Day 29 - A picture that can always make you smile.
As much as I hate the things Mr. Busch has done to my liver, I will admit that it has brought many a smile to my face. Oh you guys...
Day 27 - A picture of yourself and a family member.
Rocky Rococo Ronnie. I love this dog. He is my family. I miss him every day and I've been thinking about him quite often lately. He had more love in his heart than any human I know. He never missed a chance to cuddle and made me smile when it was impossible to do so. I see his face in every happy dog that has its head out the window, that gets tangled in his leash, that runs up to their owner's with exceptional amounts of loyalty. I miss that dog and everything he did for me. RIP Rocky. We miss you more than words can express.
My highest aspiration is to be the person my dog thinks I am.

Day 26 - A picture of something that means a lot to you.
My family is extremely important to me. I would do anything for any one of them. My family may be broken, but it's mine and I love them more than anything.
Day 25 - A picture of your day.
I love this show. And. I get to write a paper about it. I'm writing an analytical essay about the evolution of romantic relationships based on how well or poorly people communicate with each other. And I'm using Ross and Rachel's fictional relationship as Exhibit A.
Now, for a full day of research. Yay!
Day 24 - A picture of something you wish you could change.
I wish I could have my grandparents back. They were two of the most supportive, caring, exciting people I ever had in my life. I miss them every day.

Day 23 - A picture of your favorite book.
I don't really have a favorite book. But I am a sucker for any series.
Good or bad. I could care less. I love taking the time to invest in the characters and see what happens next.
Day 22 - A picture of something you wish you were better at.
I would love to be a better cook.
Not to fit into the stereotype, but it would be nice to cook for myself at least.

Day 21 - A picture of something you wish you could forget.
Something I wish I could forget every day is the amount of homework, extra projects and fun stuff that I need to finish tomorrow. It's always an invigorating experience to crunch the time and be as efficient as possible in the measly 168 hours I'm allotted per week.
Who needs sleep?
Day 20 - A picture of somewhere you'd love to travel.
Australia. It's warm. It's sunny. It has people with awesome accents. It is far away from home. It has the ocean. It has a wonderful graphic design industry. Yes. Definitely Australia.
Day 19 - A picture of you when you were little.
(From left to right) My mom, my sister, me and my grandmother. She died almost six years ago and she is missed every day. These were simpler times, those are missed every day as well.
Day 18 - A picture of your biggest insecurity.
My biggest insecurity would have to be my financial stability.
I made a promise to myself that I would never live paycheck to paycheck. That I would always have money to put in savings. So far, I've been able to hold on to that.
I'm working four jobs (as per usual) plus school and never really have enough time for a social life.
I guess I have some weird priorities, but you never know what could happen tomorrow.
Day 17 - A picture of something that has made a huge impact on your life recently.
Learning as much as I have about HTML, CSS, FTP makes me say OMG. I never thought I would want to be a web designer because it is such a different world of design. But I actually find coding and the use of text to manipulate a design layout to be fascinating. It has changed how I see layouts and how I research inspiration.

Day 16 - A picture of someone who inspires you.
Ryan McCallum is the reason I am. His dedication to creative learning inspired me to take journalism and eventually become an editor for my high school newspaper. He taught me everything I know about design and inspired me to learn everything else on my own.
He gave me the chance to lead two award-winning publications and showed me where my place would be in the world. I am a designer because of him. I take on an incredible amount of responsibility on a daily basis because he told me that he knew I could do it.
I owe him a lot.
Day 15 - A picture of something you want to do before you die.
I have always wanted to write a book. An autobiography of sorts, I guess. Someday I'll put the time into it, but as of right now it is only a dream.

Day 14 - A picture of someone you could never imagine your life without.
This is Griffin Thomas Arthur Trevino.
We met somewhere around 6 or 7 years ago. Started dating June 21, 2008. And I can honestly say I've loved that man since. It's an incredible feeling when you realize that you've found your other half, sometimes it's even scary. Some days are harder than others and no relationship is perfect. But that Someone that I could not imagine my life without is Griffin. I don't know where I would be without him.
Day 13 - A picture of your favorite band or artist.
I don't have a favorite band. Or artist.
I have favorite songs. Maybe a couple favorite paintings. I might just have to go ahead and skip this one.

Day 12 - A picture of something you love.
I love my apartment.
I love being independent and even having a rent payment is kind of exciting. I love living with my boyfriend (seen doing dishes in the top image). I love having a place that looks the way we want it to and is messy or clean at our will.
It's a good life.

Day 11 - A picture of something you hate.
I hate that my car is dead.
Since I was a child, I've been in love with Volkswagen Beetles. Last year I finally got one. I was excited and didn't even mind pouring a couple thousand dollars of repairs into it.
Then one day someone decides not to stop and my car is ruined. I love my new VW Jetta, but I miss my Beetle. I miss looking out at a parking lot and being able to pick my car out from a mile away.
He was a good car and maybe someday I'll have another Beetle.

Day 10 - A picture of the person you do the most messed up things with.
Kezia Karen McCarty.
We met sometime in middle school and the rest (as they say) is history.
Though maybe some choices could have been a little better, those are the moments I wouldn't trade for the world.
Those are the moments you remember and appreciate because nobody else has done that.
Thank you for the entertainment and excitement. We'll finish that list someday.
Day 09 - A picture of the person who has gotten you through the most.
This man is the man of my dreams. He is everything I never knew I always wanted. As cheesy as that is, it is the truth and honestly I don't know where I would be without him.
He gets me through everything. The small stuff, the big stuff and everything in between. I know I can count on him to comfort me regardless of how irrational I am being.
I love Griffin Thomes Arthur Trevino and he makes me a stronger and better person.

Day 07 - A picture of your most treasured item.
Everything I ever need on a daily basis (homework, freelance work, pictures, access to the internet) all live inside my little 13" Mac. One day I'll have enough money to upgrade to something that works faster and has more free space, but this machine has been my life saver and held together my most prized possessions.
Saturday, March 5, 2011
Day 06 - A picture of a person you'd love to trade places with for a day.
I had to think a long time about this one.
Most people choose a celebrity or someone rich, but I choose myself. I don't want to be anyone but me (even for a day). I may not be the happiest person in the world, but I would never be happier as someone else.
I do everything I do and make the choices I do because it makes me happy.

Day 05 - A picture of your favorite memory.
This photo encompasses two of my favorite memories.
02. For most of my senior year, I had an "independent study" that I spent in the editor's office with these girls. It was some of the best conversation I've ever had. Seeing them and gossiping about unnecessary aspects of life was exciting and relaxing (something I don't get much of anymore).

Day 04 - A picture of your night.
Nothing happened today.
Except the fact that I played this zombie apocalypse game that Griffin got me addicted to. Also, notice FB is open on the other tab. This pretty much defines my night.
At least I'm not cleaning or out doing homework or something productive...phew.

Day 03 - A picture of the cast from your favorite show.

Day 02 - A picture of you and the person you have been close with for the longest.
I guess it would have to be a tie between my mother and my sister.
Since the divorce, us women have grown really close and I hope it stays that way.
Of course every daughter "hates" their mother during those good ol' teenage years, but I am and have always been able to talk to my mom about anything. Even now, I know I can call her and she will drop everything for me. She even drove 50 miles out of her way to bring me my spare key after I locked myself out of my car.
I hate that I moved away and that I don't see them every day anymore. They tell me about things they do and even the arguments they have. I miss it all.

krdesignservices.com
I have a website. I have a way to communicate my talents and services provided with the real world. I am excited to start heading in the right direction. One more semester left of school and I will have my double major in advertising design and web design. I am proud to put myself in motion. I have to say thank you to anyone and everyone that I have bothered in order to get this done.
As far as I can tell, I may just be a real, live designer.

Use it or lose it.
This is my New Year's resolution.
And I'm already a day behind.
I've always enjoyed writing. Writing fiction, writing in a journal, writing journalistic style. I just don't have enough will to stick by it. I'm always so busy with other things, this, that, blah blah blah.
No more excuses.
I will post AT LEAST once a day. I will not depend on it as a memoir by any means, but it will be an outlet for my creative mind to (hopefully) flow.
Since I am already a day behind, I will start by writing about what I did yesterday.
Since I started at my new job, I have worked every Saturday since the beginning of August. Yesterday was my first Saturday off. Yesterday was WONDERFUL. All I did was clean and do laundry and watch Charmed. I tried my hand at drawing, but that didn't go over so well.
I used to be able to knock out an 18x24 charcoal drawing in less than a 3 hour class period. Now I'm trying to draw a picture of my (beautiful) god-daughter and nothing. I guess that saying "use it or lose it" applies to drawing. For me anyway. I am disappointed that I have not tried to draw anything in almost two years. I am disappointed that I may have lost something I worked very hard for.
It is a great feeling to hear people tell you what a great job you've done on, especially when they are bewildered by it. That's what happens when people see my drawings. Now what do I have? A box of charcoal pencils and an empty pad of drawing paper.
I haven't given up (yet). But I am disheartened for the moment.
Maybe that should be another one of my New Year's resolutions...
